Process
This website interface began with me wondering, in my research, what the expectations were for both the company and their target audience of users. Once that was done, then came the architecture or organization of the menu navigation and the site pages. Considering the different promotional uses that Silver Creek was in need of, like shopping, social media and company information, it was clear that the interface would need specific pages for such purposes. And along the way, those pages became "Home," "Shop," "Media," "Cart" and "Account." A company for hand-crafted soap, like Silver Creek, would want to convey the idea of its products to build its reputation. Specific information and responsive tasks were determined for certain pages, in both desktop and mobile format. It was onward to drawing sketches of potential choices for the interface's visual design. When working on Adobe XD, the site pages were given a more earthy color palette of green and brown, but then they were revised with a better color palette with multiple shades of light orange and light green. This gave the pages a better conveyance of the ideas of freshness and cleanliness that the soap products are supposed to convey. The interface also includes categories for the different types of products, links and other information. And the different tasks were applied to the pages to test out how well their responsiveness would work in conjunction with the visually appealing aspects of the interface design. This site interface is an example of how designers can help different businesses be represented well.
