Full Process

When each student was given a specific article about the world of design, we each began to visualize the topics we had. And there seemed to be implications that the articles could relate to us, especially while designing a magazine. Different image files were provided by the teacher, for the front cover. After using Photoshop to change the style of the front cover image, the magazine needed a title representing the aspects of design, like “Vizual”. The back cover had the same style, and used brands for the school and our visual communications program. Once my article inside had a layout and hierarchy, on InDesign, four other articles from other design students were added into my magazine. After we had a handle on the project, we teamed up with other students as partners to redesign five articles into each of our magazine iterations. We worked together to incorporate multiple articles that had different layout designs, so they could become more cohesive in each other's documents. Then, the table of contents and index for article references were made. We coordinated so that our partnership could test-publish each of our magazine iterations on issuu.com and generate QR codes for those publications. And those QR codes would be placed on the back covers of our magazines. There was a letter, included by me, describing the experience of working on my first finished draft. After that first magazine draft was done, we split off from our partners and worked on redesigning them into new drafts alone. That meant shortening the number of articles from five to three, as well as updating the index and table of contents. The articles and covers were revised, and students were provided ads to incorporate between the different articles for advertising. The editor's letter was rewritten, and the final magazine draft was published on Issuu. And given a new QR code.
