Full Process
For designing the brand guide, first came choosing the kind of business and name. Then, the guidelines needed to be established. Which meant writing out a detailed purpose for the guide and determining the vision statement for the brand. As well as, envisioning the brand’s character and core values for the company. This was to help users of the brand to understand Standpoint Movie Theaters for the effort of building their standing and reputation. Coming up with an introduction and a personality for the brand also helped me make a firm logo for this business, on Adobe Illustrator. The idea of theaters was communicated through the movie film of the logo, along with the company name for the logotype. Plus, the tagline “stories inspire minds” to draw the attention of readers, even more. On Adobe InDesign, the introduction, personality, and logo were included in the layout of the document. After that, it came time to display the different pieces and iterations of the logo design. As well as varying depictions of proper and improper usage for it. Then, two sections were made in the guide to explain and demonstrate the typography used within the brand identity. My process then went on to display my brand’s different colors in the last section of the guide. CMYK and RGB were both used to identify the colors, so this color palette could be used on print and screen. The layout of the inner pages for the document was given a firm and cohesive style to match the brand identity. The covers were designed to communicate the idea of the company with an inverted replica of the brandmark. Throughout the process of designing both the brand identity and the guide itself, revisions of the content were made to improve both form and function, for the end result. From Adobe InDesign, the guide was then printed and trimmed in the class computer lab for presentation.
