Full Process

Crafting Wiz was looking for a somewhat simple design for their logo, to convey both the idea of crafting and a snazzy mood to the audience, while retaining Crafting Wiz as a title. It began with researching and discussing this with them. At first, the logo was just going to be used for their Instagram profile, but it was later suggested to be used as commemorative stickers and tote bags to go with the client's crochet projects. The logo design began with the rough sketches for visual aid. Crafting Wiz found the crochet hook in a circular holding shape to be the brandmark for their goals. The digital drafts then began, on Adobe Illustrator, where the brand mark was based on my sketches and combined with the logotype, using a typeface called Pacifico, from Adobe Fonts. Feedback from the client allowed for both good communication and good revision of the design, while different orientations of the brand were tested. Some testing of the color palette was done. Even though Crafting Wiz wanted only purple for the logo, different kinds of purple were still available. A form of red-purple conveyed moods of creativity and thrill. With just that single color, there was also the brightness to experiment with, which is how the logotype was given a slightly darker shade than the brandmark, allowing for slightly more emphasis upon it. After smoothing out the paths, the final design was complete with different iterations, such as full color, black-only, and white-only. They wanted their stickers to have shapes custom to them, which led me to apply contrasting offsets to the edges of the logo stickers. Two stickers were made and each contrasted against their own background. The logo and stickers were then sent to Crafting Wiz as digital files for practical use. Later on, my endeavor was to make packaging tape for the shipping of their crochet projects. With a repetitive pattern of the logo design in different color shades. And lastly, a single 300’ roll of the packaging tape was ordered on Sticker Mule and shipped to Crafting Wiz.
