Full Process
When drawing body parts like hands, it's important to consider more than just the basic shapes on the outside. There are the inner workings of the hand, as well. With all the bones inside, it can pose in many ways. In this instance, my phone was included to challenge my ability to work with different kinds of lighting and surfaces. Seeing as how the light is softer on the hand and sharper when it reaches the phone. One hand was held high for posing, and the other to draw with a little bit of pencil and a lot of charcoal. Thereby, applying shadow in small amounts at a time, and making some areas more blurred and shaded than others.
A college project in “Figure Drawing” class to demonstrate the ability to recreate the likeness and lighting effects of a hand as accurately as possible. With or without other objects.
