Process
My conveyance of a beer company and design of multiple flavored iterations of a can label, was an educating experience. "Craftwork Brewery" was my choice for the name. The first step taken toward the finished labels was research into conveying the idea of "farm to barrel." Then came the brainstorming, where a mind-map was made to conceive of and record relevant ideas for the directions that my label design could go. Not to mention, it helps connect how these ideas can relate and work together. Once the different options were considered, thumbnail sketches were then made to help me better visualize the some favorable design choices for my logo that would represent the company and the label. That is when the rough drafts of my logo and a mood-board for the label's style were made, which then allowed me to make sketches and rough drafts of the label design itself, to plan for the inclusion of essential elements like a bar code, a warning and measurements. With the logo and the label being revised at the same time, the styles in which they were made were adjusted and improved to work together as a single design, and become more visually appealing. Especially, while being used for its intended product. In the end, different variations of my label were made to represent and describe different flavors, so that the target audience could have options to choose from.
