Process

The library services in question were looking for a new logo design for them to use in the conveyance of their presence, while delivering books and other informational resources to their audience of customers. This project began with our class meeting the client, a person from the library services. After asking them questions about their company and their expectations for the logo, it was then onward to the research into their company, including their website and past design choices. From sketches to digital rough drafts to revision after revision, it was a slow process. Along the way, the design students in the class considered new design styles to keep our options open and to allow us to give important feedback to one another. Although, the client ended up having us stick with the initial style that they intended, which was a logo with a ripple looking effect, similar to what they have used in the past. And further along in the process, it came to light that their current logo used a color palette that was favorable in the creation of a visually communicative design. Plus, in each revision of this branding, mockups were made for the demonstration of their uses, like on their website and trucks. The class project was not over by the end of the term, so each of us students had come up with our best iteration of a potential logo, in the time available. This one was my design and it well communicates the purposes of CCRLS as a whole.
