Process
My reconstruction of the form and lighting of this glass started with me visualizing the most basic shapes that make up the glass. And to give the drawing more context, the environment of the object needed the same. Slowly adding layer after layer of detail for the drawing, some more simplified than others. All the while, using a steady position from the real-world glass and environment for the capturing of realistic detail, as well as, laying the groundwork for where the lighting effects of them. Keeping in mind, the effect the water has, as well. After completion, when the drawing was being scanned, the warm lighting in the room was problematic, so the solution of digital filtering was introduced. Both, to eliminate the warm lighting that landed on the drawing, and to allow for the proper amount of contrast, brightness and texture.
