Process

Each design student was to develop both a new brand and a brand identity guide for a fictional company. There were separate phases to the process of this project, such as introduction/personality, logo, typography, color and final printed guide. First, my brand guide started with me choosing the type of business and its name/title, and then it was onward to writing text about relevant topics, like the purpose of the guide, the brand vision statement and the brand's character or essence overall, which also included company values and brand values. This was all to help readers understand Standpoint Movie Theaters and help them build their reputation. Then, it was time to make a steadfast logo for a steadfast company. Plus, the guide also needed pages detailing the different parts and variations of the logo, as well as the guidelines for both the correct and incorrect usage of the logo. After that, came the sections covering the typefaces representing the company, including differently sized examples of those typefaces. My color palette was made to display the different colors used in the brand to represent the company, in both CMYK and RGB. The different pages inside of my guide, including the table of contents, were given a cohesive look, and the covers were designed to be as strong and firm as the brand to communicate the idea of the company. This brand identity guide of mine reminds people that stories can inspire minds.
