Process

As a group, the three of us were tasked with making a business plan for a design business, out of our ambition for our careers. First, we started by deciding what the basis would be for the plan and choosing the name; Creezon Studios, which is a combination of our three last names. We chose to have our theoretical design studio set out to help customers cherish memories by designing for the representation and communication of special events, whether they be private, public, corporate, or charitable. With the skill set to make such visually appealing designs established, my partners moved on to handling the majority of the research into our business' goals, structure, and startup costs. But, at the same time, my role became to create the whole brand identity for Creezon Studios, including the logo, typography, color palette, and brand orientation. My focus was also to merge the informational text with the established brand style and organize the layout of the document, accordingly. Along the way, my role involved pitching in on the business structure by providing a short biography on my own skill set and career. And our logo began with me sketching out different ideas for the conveyance of the business' name and/or idea of service. It was decided that a design of the consonants of Creezon's name would be a good way to introduce such a name to the design market. Plus, our team exchanged choices of colors to be used, and leaned to a combination of green and blue, in order to convey moods of fresh and trustworthy ideas that fuel our designs. It was on to making digital drafts on Adobe Illustrator and receiving feedback from my team for improvement. Once that was done, my group helped me to narrow it down between the multiple choices for the brand orientation; how the brandmark and logotype would appear when visually presented together to the intended audience. My process made the content for both the cover and the inside pages of the plan harness the same colors and typography as in the brand. But, instead of using gradient colors, like in the brand, solid green and blue were used to build a hierarchy and emphasize sections and topics in Creezon's plan. In 8" x 10" format, we then printed and bound copies of the business plan, in both color and grayscale, which we presented to our class. This was to show them what services we were capable of providing to those who need it. For the communication of all kinds of events that people wish to remember.
